Hasn't this year gone quickly? We have been asked by many if we were planning on a Christmas Beer release, and whilst we don't think it would be something we would do every year, this year we had the perfect beer to work with.
Gordon's Strong is a wee heavy style ale that has been sitting in various barrels for a year now, and what better barrel to take than the Cognac barrel and add all those warming spices and flavours so redolent of the holiday season. A warming malty beer plays with the mellow light fruitiness of cognac and we have added cranberries, sage & orange zest to give it a real christmassy feel with an aroma of toffee, boozy fruitcake and spices with a dry finish.
