Caribbean Chocolate Cake 2024 - The Beers

First up, the big one. Today is the launch of Caribbean Chocolate Cake 2024. This is a series of stouts close to our hearts, and more than ever we’re aware that it’s a set of beers that belongs to our whole community.

We’ve made improvements to Caribbean Chocolate Cake and Death By C.C.C as a result of 2023 feedback. Our Orange Tiramisu edition was a suggestion made in a live tasting last year, and goes in an entirely different direction to previous specials.

We also wanted to bring a collaborative element back into the series, having originally worked on the beer with Cigar City. So we welcome special guests into the CCC world for the first time. Scottish maestros Vault City have helped to put their own unique twists into our Rocky Road.

If you’re new to ‘CCC’ or want ALL the info on this year’s beers - head to the Caribbean Chocolate Cake section.

Caribbean Chocolate Cake 2024 - The Reviews

Thanks to the 12 members of our tasting panel, who were picked to review the new beers ahead of the public release, we're pleased to share some early reviews for the new beers.

"Once again, the annual CCC release proves to be the most wonderful time of the year. Each beer offers something uniquely different, but there’s a common bond of complexity, class and quality that can only be achieved by a brewer truly confident in their ability to surprise, astound and delight. Multiple luxury ingredients. Countless hours spent in the ‘
Spinbot’. Unquantifiable brewing skills. Four incredible beers." - Special Ale Gent

"They were incredible and definitely worth looking into! I dived into these all in one night, they were incredible!" - Tom Willmott

"I'm not a fan of Tiramisu so had reservations as to whether I'd like this one. However you've got to love a white stout. Based on the description I was expecting it to be a bit sweeter but it's actually got a really nice dry ending." - Dudley Pritchard

"Bloody hell this is good. Even Mrs S who’s not a beer drinker likes it." - Mike (on Chocolate Orange Tiramisu)

"A collaboration with @vaultcitybrewing this is sweet and gooey with the marshmallow standing out initially with a honey sweetness coming though in the finish, all of this is layered over an indulgent biscuity base. All of these beers are strong but this one had that boozy edge you'd expect from an Impy Stout." - Phil and Amy

Caribbean Chocolate Cake 2024 - The Events

We don’t just keep the fun to our webshop, Tap Yard and Siren RG1! Caribbean Chocolate Cake is available now from all over the UK. Check the map to find your closest launch site.

And we’re not finished there! CCC is also heading out to Italy, Malaysia, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and France.

Caribbean Chocolate Cake: Rocky Road Brownie: Not Vegetarian

Our collaboration with Vault City, Caribbean Chocolate Cake: Rocky Road Brownie was made with a small amount of marshmallows in the brew. Despite ordering marshmallows suitable for vegetarians, we were supplied with an alternative brand of marshmallows, which we should have picked up at the time. An eagle-eyed team member spotted the mistake, however by this time the beer had been packaged. Our apologies for any inconvenience this causes. We have updated our procedures to prevent this happening again in future. Please note that all Caribbean Chocolate Cake beers contain lactose and as such are not Vegan.

A Surprise From The Barrel Store

Amongst all the stout fun - here’s one for the barley wine appreciation society.

We’re delighted to share with you The Light Gatherer - the barrel aged version of 2021’s Scattered Light. This cult classic was a three-wood barley wine, with loads of caramel, toffee and burnt sugar notes, zest and berries from the hops, and nutty complexity and tannins from the Cypress, Oak and Maple spirals.

We absolutely loved this beer, and are very pleased to tell you that just over three years in Heaven Hill barrels has produced a spectacular result. You’ll find woody, spicy and botanical flavours layered into its sweet vanilla-rich body, with a mature dry finish. Full of nuance and complexity, you won’t want to miss it.

Around The Venues

Oktoberfest went down a storm, with a record breaking day for the Tap Yard and Siren Reading being drunk dry of Festbier! It’s shaping up to be a busy Christmas build up for our Siren venues.

The George & Dragon, fresh from its Autumn refurb, is seeing the new weekly specials flying out. The 3 course Festive menu begins 25th November and bookings are highly recommended.

The Tap Yard will be celebrating the launch of Caribbean Chocolate Cake this weekend with all four beers on tap all weekend and vintage kegs from previous years! On Saturday, we’ll have face painting during the day, we’ll be serving Death By Hot Chocolate and will also be joined by The Amp Cats performing live.

Siren Reading is joining the fun with all four beers pouring from opening on Friday 7th. You can pick up a flight of all 4 beers, or treat yourself to a special CCC dessert flight, which includes small sample beers and three desserts!

Advent Calendars - Thank You

We’d like to take a quick moment to say thank you to all the people who have pre-ordered advent calendars with us this year. We will be delivering a record number of beer advent calendars before December 1st. If you’d like to join the fun, get your order in quick.

Remember, every advent calendar will contain 24 unique beers, limited edition Christmas cans, free delivery and a couple of nice surprises. We always make sure that the value of the beer is more than the cost of the advent calendar, so you’re in safe hands.

A very special Mavka

We're pleased to share with you yet another adorable edition of Mavka - Mavka the dog, named after the first ever batch of Mavka that we produced. Mavka's owners, the Grovers, reached out to us in case we wanted a little dog publicity, and how could we say no! Looking for an excellent pet name? Why not consider a Siren beer!

What’s Coming Up?

That’s probably enough to be getting on with for now! But the year in beer is far from over. Stay tuned for your inbox for news on all this coming up, and more!
