Questions to Ask Before You Buy a Craft Beer Advent Calendar
The craft beer advent calendar has become a festive tradition at Siren. It’s a 24-day journey of flavour and discovery as an annual treat. But with so many other options out there, how do you know which one is the right beery advent calendar for you?
To help you navigate the hoppy waters of festive beer buying, we've put together the essential FAQ. It’s our honest guide to picking the calendar that’s going to bring you the best feeling every day you see it under the tree, because your countdown deserves to be legendary!
The Essentials: What Am I Really Buying?

1. Is the calendar generic, or something unique?
A great question! You don't want the same book with a slightly different cover. We bring something new to the table each and every year, never repeating a complete lineup. We keep the design fresh, too. This year we’ve re-modelled the whole calendar from scratch... it’s a true statement piece!
2. Will I get any extras, or is it just the beer?
The calendar includes a free tasting glass – the perfect vessel to properly enjoy the 24 unique beers inside. Plus, we've tucked in an extra Christmas Day surprise to keep the good times rolling when the clock strikes midnight on the 25th. Consider it a well-deserved bonus for making it through the year!
3. Are there repeat beers? I want 24 different beers!
We agree. That’s why we guarantee no repeat beers in our calendar. You’re embarking on a true journey: 24 days, 24 completely unique drinks, showcasing the full breadth of what Siren does best, from our flagship favourites to one-off specials across all the beer styles you can imagine.
The Beer Geek Check: Quality and Variety

4. What size are the beers? Am I getting a mix of small cans?
Some of our beers work better in 330ml cans, and there’s definitely a place for them. But in our craft beer advent calendar, we know that value is super important to customers. That’s why 16 of our 24 beers are 440ml cans this year. Remember, the value of cans in our calendars is always higher than the price you pay.
5. Does the calendar include any exclusive or brand new beers?
Absolutely. This is the best time of year for beer geeks! Our calendar includes exclusives – beers specifically brewed or reserved for this countdown. You'll be one of the very first to try certain brews before they see a wider release (if they ever do!). This is your backstage pass to the brewery.
6. When are the beers packaged? How fresh will they be?
We take this seriously and pack your calendar as close to the delivery date as possible. This ensures you are drinking the beers as fresh as the day they left our tanks. Does it mean we can sell them in August? No. Does it mean the PR teams all ignore us? Yes. Do you get the latest releases? Yes. Does it make the calendar better? We think so, yes.
The Practicalities

7. How big is a craft beer advent calendar?
It’s a pretty impressive specimen! Our 2025 beer advent calendar is the following dimensions: 50cm x 44cm x 18cm. Where are you going to show it off?
8. Is it expensive to ship?
It’s an impressive size and does contain a lot of beer. But fear not. We’re covering the cost of shipping on all advent calendars. That’s right, free delivery is built in.
9. Is a craft beer advent calendar a good gift?
It is, quite simply, an incredible gift. Forget the socks (actually don’t, we have those too) and the same-old-same-old. Gifting this calendar is giving a friend or loved one:
- 24 days of quality festive build up
- A free, high-quality tasting glass
- The excitement of trying exclusive beers they can't get anywhere else
- A reminder of your excellent taste every single day in December
It's thoughtful, experiential, and undeniably high-value. If you're looking for the ultimate gift for the beer lover in your life (or a spectacular treat for yourself), this is the answer.
