  • Webshop & Warehouse Operative

    Siren Craft Brew was born in 2013 with a simple idea in mind: to introduce exciting, full-flavoured and forward-thinking beers to as many people as possible. As part of that mission, we offer our beer as fresh as possible - direct from the source through our on-site tasting room and webshop.

    We are on the lookout for people with a proactive, can-do attitude who are reliable and have a passion for doing a great job. Our team is small and committed in delivering the highest possible standards of service, accurately and efficiently fulfilling customer online orders to our beer-loving community. This area of the business is agile, and responsibilities are varied.

    Our current opening is for a full time, weekday Webshop and Warehouse Operative, with a guaranteed 32 hours. Shift patterns will run 8 hours Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and 4 hours Thursday and Friday, with the possibility of picking up further hours at peak times. The chosen candidate will report to our warehouse manager, and will be in frequent communication with our webshop coordinator.

    Main duties will include:
    • Preparing web orders and customer collections with accuracy, efficiency, and care.
    • Performing regular stock takes and picking stock.
    • Keep the web packing area and warehouse tidy and organised.
    • Any other duties as reasonably requested by management.

    You will need to:
    • Work with efficiency, accuracy, and pace.
    • Be flexible.
    • Be able to comfortably lift weights up to 25kg.
    • Work in a fast-paced environment, meeting the physical demands of the role.
    • Take pride in your work with great attention to detail.
    • Picking and packing and warehouse experience is preferred but more important is the willingness to learn and genuine enthusiasm for community, presentation, craft beer or a combination.

  • Lead Brewer

    We’re looking for passion, energy and enthusiasm to lead our incredible brew team, and keep great beer flowing through the brewery. In return, you’ll be given the freedom to bring your ideas to life, affect positive change and make your mark on an ambitious independent brewery celebrating its first 10 years.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Managing the production plan and daily tasks
    • Line management and mentoring with development plans delivered through 1:1s
    • Lead on communication, team projects, internal training and collaboration
    • Drive productivity and efficiencies in the production team and our processes
    • Build on our solution-focused environment
    • Ensure quality standards are on point throughout the brewing process, implementing a feedback loop from our lab work back into recipe development
    • Review and report on in-process beers
    • Ensure SOPs are implemented, up-to-date and fully trained
    • Manage raw material stock and ordering through our brewery management system
    • Manage service maintenance contracts and preventative maintenance planning
    • Linking brew team and scheduling department 
    • Day to day management of the team including rotas, meetings and holidays

    Requirements

    • Experience in people management and motivation ideally in a production environment
    • Passionate about making incredible beer
    • 3-5 years experience in a brewing position
    • Understanding of quality control processes and procedures
    • Understanding of sensory in beer and off flavour detection

    Salary: In the region of £34,000 subject to brewing and team management experience.

  • Lab Technician

    We’re looking for someone to join us in one of the most important positions in the brewery, the lab! Quality is at the forefront of everything we do, so having invested heavily in this area, we’re on the lookout for someone passionate, forensic and keen to be at the heart of all things QC.

    Key Responsibilities:

    · Collecting all physical/chemical and microbiological samples according to the sample timeline
    · Physical and chemical analysis of all samples following EBC/ASBC protocols
    · Microbiology
    · Spread plate method for all process samples
    · Sterile filtration method for all small-pack samples
    · Performing PCR on pre-packaging samples and potential spoilage organisms detected through traditional microbiology methods
    · Daily yeast cell counts and viability counts
    · Recording and reporting all results to the quality team including potential issues
    · Organising, shipping and recording report data for all samples sent for analysis externally
    · Managing lab consumables, lab stock and inventory

    Skills Required:

    · Microbiology background
    · Good understanding of food hygiene and standards
    · Aseptic sampling technique
    · Good admin skills, keeping records and paperwork up to date
    · PCR experience (beneficial)
    · Biology degree (beneficial)
    · IBD/ICBD qualification (beneficial)
    · Brewery experience or strong understanding of the brewing process and brewing microbiology (beneficial)


    Salary: In the region of £26,000 subject to experience.

  • Canning Line Operator

    Canning Line Operator

    We are looking for a driven, passionate and ambitious person to join our packaging team, ensuring that fresh beer continues to flow through the brewery with the best possible standards.

    This is a full time role based in Finchampstead.

    Key Responsibilities

     • Running of the day to day tasks of running our modern canning line and auxiliary can packaging equipment.

     • Ensure beer is packaged to specification which includes record keeping, weights and measures, DO, TPO and CO2 reading

     • Understanding of food hygiene standards and keeping packaging area and equipment to the highest standards

     • Perform package size and format changes within specific parameters for various machines

     • Update and follow checklists to ensure all tasks are performed for specific operations and are communicated to the rest of the team

     • Performing scheduled and preventative maintenance tasks on the packaging line to keep operation smooth.

     • Create and update SOPs for new and existing machines and processes

     • Move pallets, packaging supplies and packaged product with pallet/forklift trucks

     • Manage stock in a warehouse and have good organisation with regards to stock rotation and stock management

     • Stocktaking of raw materials, packaging supplies and spare parts

     • Ordering of raw materials and packaging supplies from suppliers and managing delivery schedule to fit in with production schedules

     • Help to manage supplier relationships where required

    Experience & Skills Required

     • Experience running a packaging line for both bottles and cans. This may ideally include de-palletisers, fillers, conveyors systems, labelling machines, date coding printers and boxing machines.

     • Good communication skills with manager and packaging team. Also having the ability to communicate across production teams when required

     • Engage in working safely and experience with working with cleaning chemicals safely

     • Good admin skills, keeping records and paperwork up to date

     • Be fit and able to lift and move 25kg

     • Be able to demonstrate you care about getting it right first time

     • Competent with Microsoft Office suite of programs

    The position will be primarily based remotely, with travel to the brewery in Finchampstead required occasionally, reporting to the Head of Sales.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Develop a regional strategy of growing distribution, volume, profit and brand experience within a range of channels.
    • Develop mutually beneficial joint business plans with our customers in line with key company objectives.
    • Work with our wholesale partners and other key external stakeholders to drive our brands and win new business within London.
    • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and departments such as customer hub and marketing.

    The position will be office based at our brewery in Finchampstead, Berkshire.

    • Managing our direct delivery customer orders.

    • Develop and maintain strong positive relations with all customers.
