[Event] Barrel Aged Beer & Cheese Tasting
Join us for an afternoon of some of the finest from our barrel store - carefully paired up with a sublime selection of cheeses, tickets on sale now. We're working with local heroes The Grumpy Goat in Reading, to source cheese that perfectly complements or interestingly contrasts the flavours we're introducing. Beers that we'll be opening include: Old Fashioned - Bourbon Barrel Aged Barley Wine Odyssey 008 - Dark Belgian Inspired Blend Summer Encore - Double IPA Aged in Gin Barrels Barrel Aged Shattered Dream - Imperial Breakfast Stout aged in Bourbon Barrels Our barrel manager, Steve, will be on-hand to introduce the story behind each beer. He'll also talk a little bit about how and why we started ageing beer in oak, and what delights are currently slumbering in the hundreds of barrels you'll see. He'll be joined by Ruben - our beer and food specialist. Along with overseeing our tasting room, Ruben is also in charge of training and education, and spends much of his time talking to the good people at pubs, bars, restaurants and shops that serve our beer day-in and day-out. He'll also be introducing the cheese with help from the specialists at The Grumpy Goat (to be announced). This is a one-off event at the brewery and we can't wait to host you. We may even dig one or two extra bottles out of the cellar for the occasion ;)
