January Newsletter

Happy New Year! We're jumping head first into Tryanuary, a time to celebrate exploration into different styles of beer, and for you to try something new and perhaps a little unfamiliar. On top of that, we have some big new brews dropping this month, and exciting updates along the way.

Tryanuary

Welcome to Tryanuary with Siren! This is the month to try something new and indulge in some styles of craft beer that might be off your radar. Maybe it's just that beer you've been meaning to give a go? Running throughout January, you can take a massive 20% off anything in our Tryanuary category page, including the staple Tryanuary mixed case and assorted merchandise. Just use the code TRY20 at checkout to qualify!

On top of this, we'll be rotating various beers in the category page, allowing you to make a fantastic saving on single cans and can cases. Keep your eyes peeled as this could change at the drop of a hat. We'll have polls running on our social media, so get your votes in.

Win a Mini Fridge!

Staff Updates

This month, we're welcoming in three new members of staff to Siren.

Local to our brewery and an already established Siren patron, Josie is joining us to fill the role of Lab Manager. She graduated from university in December after completing her Masters in Microbiology and Immunology.

We have two internal sales team members arriving shortly, helping our sales team send beer far and wide across the country. Ellie comes from a marketing role in Andwell Brewery, and James has previously worked sales over at Loddon Brewery.

We're excited to have the guys settle in, and look forward to what they'll bring to our team!

On The Pod

Our JD was back in the limelight recently, speaking as a guest on brand new podcast We Are Beer People. The pod focusses on the people who keep the beer industry turning and acts as a deep dive into the personal journeys of the people who make beer work. JD spoke about his education, previous industry roles and life at Siren.

You can check out the episode through the link below!

Speaking of talking beer, brewer Hayley was recently invited to speak at Brewers Congress at the BDC in London. It was a great chance for Hayley to chat about her own story, and pass on some influential advise to industry friends. Keep an eye on the We Are Beer People podcast, as Hayley may soon make her own appearance...

Trade Spotlight: Brooke & Brook House

As per blog tradition, we love to chat about trade sites close to our hearts within our newsletters. This month we're looking at Brooke and Brook House; partners in crime serving delicious food and pouring incredible beer.

Brook House has been a staple in the Fulham dining and drinking community for the last few years now and recently (and deservedly) was awarded 'Front of House Team of the Year' by Estrella.

Their menu is ever changing but Siren is a constant, where regular favourite’s Soundwave, Suspended in... and Memento are served perfectly. Toward the tail end of 2023 saw the opening of a new site, Brooke, bringing the exceptional quality of Brook House to another South London neighbourhood – Clapham.

Brooke, in its own way, merges the fine dining with a casual bar that both sites are now synonymous for. For this you can largely thank Olivia and Marcia (who run Brooke House and Brook respectfully), for creating a labor of love in two Stalwart South London communities. Not to mention chef Martyn Young and of course the rest of the team.

Tap Yard and The G&D

Christmas is a special time for everyone, filled with frivolities aplenty. It's also a very busy time for the hospitality industry, and our teams working the Tap Yard and country pub The George & Dragon over the festive period did an amazing job at entertaining one and all.

The Tap Yard's New Year's and Christmas Eve parties went down a treat, with special beers flowing and incredible food choices. A big thanks to Jon and the team for keeping the spirits high and pulling off the best winter celebrations yet.

If you're local, don't forget the next monthly Siren Pub Quiz will be hosted on Wednesday 24th January - grab some friends and come along!

Lastly, are you the lucky owner of a Tap Yard £10 voucher from our December promotion? Don't forget to pop down before the month is up to pick up some beers. Equally, the George & Dragon scratch cards that you might have lurking around will expire at the end of January too - time to dig them out!

No and Low Alcohol Beers

Tryanuary for some, Dryanuary for others - either way, we've got you covered. This week, we be released our first ever low alcohol beers 'Call of the Void' and 'Out of Nowhere'; a stout and pilsner duo brewed in collaboration with Mash Gang.

We have a few guest beers from Mash Gang up on the webshop under a brand new Low / No Alcohol category page. Hawg, Chug and Stoop are currently up for sale, and you can pick them up through the link below.

Shattered Dream: Nitro

Shattered Dream: Nitro, our 9.6% Imperial take on Broken Dream is back, loaded with coffee and chocolate. The last time we brewed this rich and decadent stout was back in 2021 (not including our barrel-aged variant from last year). It's everything you love about this beer, back again with a healthy Nitro dosing for an incredibly smooth pour.

Coming Soon...

Guess The Hop is an upcoming trilogy of hazy beers which will each focus on one single hop. Not only will they taste brilliant, but big prizes are up for grabs to those who correctly guess the correct hop used in each beer.

Sparkle is a 3.4% Bright Pale Ale using the same hops as our soft pale ale 'Mesmerist', but in a completely different style with a Cali-esque approach. Cask fans keep an eye out, this is one you won't want to miss.

On a Final Note

Finally, we'd like to give a heartfelt shoutout to @JDBoozeReviews (not our JD this time!). We absolute love the effort that went into in him reviewing our recent advent calendar, uploading a video every day to review each beer that lay hidden inside! You can watch his wrap up video below; give the channel some love, and check out what he had to say!
