May Newsletter

Festival season is almost here! We've had so many different events and happenings this April that it's been tough to decide what makes the cut into our newsletter - here are some of the best parts of the past month, coupled with exciting news for the weeks ahead. New beers, international tours and one massive beer box takeover: read up on the latest Siren news below.

BEER52

If you’ve not yet tried any of the beers we brewed for our BEER52 box takeover, now is the perfect time to do so as they're selling fast! BEER52 offer monthly themes for their box subscribers; Yorkshire, Spain and South West have been popular past packs. We’re delighted to say that this month’s Siren theme is currently the most popular theme that BEER52 have released to date. If that doesn’t convince you to give these cans a shot, we don’t know what will.

Henley Gin Tasting at The G&D

On Thursday 11th May, we're inviting you to join us at The George and Dragon for an evening with local gin providers Henley Distillery, for a guided tasting of their fantastic gins! The distillery is situated just north of Reading, this is about as local as it gets. Three award-winning gins await for you to sample; Classic Dry, Rhubarb and Orange, and Oriental Spiced. You'll be greeted with a complimentary G&T on arrival before the tasting begins, in our gloriously cosy country pub.

Staff Anniversaries

April saw three integral members of our team celebrate their anniversaries here at Siren. Marketing Manager Andy has been working with us for just over 8 years now, with Operations Manager Jason celebrating his 7th year at Siren. Our ‘Events Guy’ Brodie joined us just last year, and has made a splash in the festival scene since! Finally, we’d like to welcome on board Emma to the accounting department and Sarah to the sales team.

Swan at the Globe

This month's trade highlight is on Swan at the Globe, a relaxed riverside bar on the South Bank of London, situated right next door to Shakespeare’s famed Globe Theatre. We've worked with Swan to create a beer just for them: the justly named Globe IPA. This means you can now drink a unique Siren beer, while you watch Shakespeare - just as he would have wanted.

The beer itself is crisp, refreshing, and incredibly easy to drink. Vibrant American hops bring tropical fruit, citrus and piney aromas. This is the perfect accompaniment to an afternoon on South Bank, and goes even better alongside great food. Look out for Globe IPA when you next visit Swan and the beautiful Globe Theatre.

While you're in London drinking the fantastic Globe IPA, be sure to hop onboard at Darcie & May Green, a riverboat in Paddington where you can now enjoy a delicious pint of Soundwave - the perfect way to welcome in the summer sun.

University of Reading Beer Festival
26th & 27th May 2023

If you live local to the Reading area, you don’t want to miss this one. The Park House Local Drinks Festival is a celebration of local producers of beer, gin, wine and more; all of whom supply the University of Reading with their drinks. Entry includes a free drink too – we think you know where to spend that. Be sure to stop by and say hello to Brodie, who will be running our Siren bar on the day!

European Birthday Tour

Do you enjoy travelling? Our beer certainly does, and Export Manager Greg has been all over Europe on our 10th Anniversary international tour! From Belgium to France, Norway to Italy, we’ve been all over – and we loved sharing the story and flavour of our anniversary beers far and wide.

Boule Park x Siren

Do you Boule? We’re gearing up for the launch of Boulepark UK – coming to London’s South Bank in June. Name a more iconic pairing than beer and Boule, we dare you. Boulepark have got a competition running on their Instagram page too, giving away a night out for 12! For mor on entry, check out their Instagram @bouleparkuk

Tap Yard Bank Holiday

What do you get if you cross multiple street food vendors, live music, steam engines, face painting, a bouncy castle, and 10 lines brewery fresh beer pouring? One incredible weekend down at our Tap Yard. Jon and the team pulled it out of the bag to deliver a fun three-day excursion for the whole family, and they can’t wait to get back at it in the near future. Keep an eye on the Siren Tap Yard socials and events page to be in the know for the future!

Festival Beers

We’re very excited to be appearing at the upcoming Are You Listening? and Brew//LDN festivals – so much so that we created a beer for each! You might have spotted these cans on sale the past couple of weeks, especially as Good Vibes Only appeared in our BEER52 takeover box. Both beers can be described quite simply as a festival in a can. Grab yours today, and be sure to join us at the events!

Brew//LDN: Good Vibes Only

A special collaboration that uses only one type of malted barley and a single hop variety. The Citra hops are expressive with tropical fruits, citrus aromas and grapefruit flavours. Festival vibes in a can! // Made especially to celebrate Siren's 10th Anniversary.

April Beer releases

Doing Science – 6.5% IPA

We love drinking Track IPAs, so it's a pleasure teaming up with them to do some science and have some fun. We've managed to get hold of the first ever Strata® CGX™ hops in Europe, a new cryogenic concentrated lupulin form of an already hero-status hop. In addition to Idaho 7 and Citra, plus a special yeast blend, this one's a winner.

Soft in the Middle – 5% Hazy Pale Ale

The latest in our series of soft, hazy pale ales which really hit the spot. These beers are hop vehicles, and this time out we're showcasing an experimental variety catchily named HBC638. It's causing excitement for its Centennial-like bright citrus notes, alongside juicy mango, stone fruit and melon vibes. Must-try.

Activate Deadline Mode – 5.5% IPA

In 10 years of brewing we've made a serious amount of IPAs, this one is like a highlights reel! Simcoe and Citra hops bring punchy tropical fruit aromas. The mouthfeel is soft and moreish, there's depth of flavour from our Vermont house yeast and we finish with signature unashamed resinous bitterness.

Divisible Invisible - 3.4% Hazy Pale Ale

Who better to team up with on a sessionable pale ale than Arbor. Our first beer together, and one featured in our BEER52 takeover box, is all about the hops, with plenty of citrus fruit aromas and juicy tropical fruit notes coming through. Satisfyingly soft and beautifully drinkable.
