Omnipollo Homebrew Competition Results
We're delighted to announce that the winner of this year's Homebrew Competition is 'Coconut Porter'. Dave will now be working on a three-way collaboration with ourselves and Omnipollo and flying with us to Sweden to brew it!The standard of brewing this year was very high, and we'd like to thank everyone for the effort and thought that went in to the beers. We sent our tasting notes and a shortlist of finalists to Omnipollo, which included Albion's Blackberry Berliner, Cacao Brown and Bourbon Imperial Stout, Tim Parsmore's Cardamon White IPA and Green Jam IPA along with the eventual winner. We asked for some background information and the story or inspiration behind each entry, so here's how the winning beer came about:
I love coconut. Coconut chocolate bars, coconut yoghurt, coconut ice-cream, or just plain old coconut. I could live on this stuff solely and be quite happy. Although I do like a beer every now and then. Then I discovered Mauis CocoNut porter and that to me was nirvana. I recently got to try Oscar Blues Death by Coconut. I had a brew day planned and decided I wanted a robust porter. So I decided it had to be a coconut porter.Congratulations to Dave and look out for more news on our next collaboration with Omnipollo in the near future!
