November Newsletter

It’s been another busy month here at Siren, and there’s lots to look forward to - so let’s crack on with the catch up and look forward.

HALLOWEEN

We hope everyone had a great Halloween. If you were paying attention to our socials, or subscribed to our mailing list then you’ll have seen THE WITCHING HOUR! Following on from the success of Happy Hour (in which for an hour on bank holidays in the summer, we set a percentage discount for whatever the temperature was…) we wanted to do something similar for Halloween.

Instead of a percentage discount, because it’s too cold, we set a fixed discount of £6.66 on every order! In just one hour, you all managed to back over £1500 in savings. That’s pretty good for you, but pretty scary for our accounts team!

ANYTIME, ANYPLACE, ANYWHERE

We’re absolutely delighted to have picked up another Beer52 award! Our little Session IPA, Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere has picked up Best Session IPA. A massive thank you to Beer52 and the Beer52 subscribers, we know how many beers they receive from amazing breweries all over the world, so it’s an honour.

The beer is available to buy online here.

WHAT TO DRINK IN AUTUMN

We followed up the blog post from last year with a new take on what to be drinking this Autumn. Highlights included Pool Parti, Destination Unknown and of course… a nice cold Soundwave; it can’t be beaten!

Check out the blog here.

DDH Soundwave

Throughout October, we’ve been sending out a few rare kegs of DDH Soundwave to a number of our friends in the trade. There’s still a few kegs to claim, so if you’d like to see a super hopped version of our flagship classic on your favourite bar - tell them to get in touch!

We also have cans available on the webshop, which have been proving popular. An extra hoppy Soundwave in a 440? What’s not to love.

NEW KITCHEN

As you may know, we have been busy installing a brand new kitchen at the George & Dragon throughout October and we offer a huge thank you to those who visited and for bearing with us during the disruption. We are extremely excited to now announce that we have officially completed our project and the new kitchen is now in operation!

We worked closely with Sprint, who have supplied and installed our kitchen to an amazing standard, offering fantastic guidance and advice along the way. Their experience delivering kitchen projects for the likes of The Ivy Group, Hawksmoor and Coppa Club has brought a wealth of valuable experience to the project.

Follow The George & Dragon on Instagram @GeorgeDragonRG7 to see some updates from the new kitchen, and don’t forget to book your Christmas Dinner party in now. We’re open for bookings from November 25th, right up to Christmas Eve.

SUSPENDED IN PUBS

We’re back again for another look at some of our favourite places to enjoy our beer. This month is The Four Thieves in Battersea, a short walk from Clapham Junction, which makes it super easy to visit.

As it happens, throughout the month of November we have a month-long residency in The Four Thieves, taking over the Tap Room section of the pub with 6 lines, and a slushie machine serving Castilian Lemon & Honey Cheesecake slushies! That, in itself, is a great reason to love this pub!

But… then you walk upstairs and discover the games room!

Part of this amazing venue is a massive games room, with everything from retro games, to VR simulation booths, to an amazing remote controlled car track - we love it.

This writer hasn’t actually been since March 14th 2020 - yep, my last decent outing before lockdown, so it holds a special memory! But, I’ll be back very soon!

At the moment, we have Soundwave, Lumina, Broken Dream, Squiggle and Out Like A Light on tap, along with of course - Castilian Lemon.

Make sure you head down soon to check out the games and have a few beers!

CONGRATS TO OUR JESS

This month, our very own Tap Yard Manager, Jess, went up north to visit the incredible city of York. Whilst there, amongst taking in the Craft Beer highlights such as The House of Trembling Madness and of course, Brew York’s tap room, she got engaged!!

All of us at Siren wish Jess & Calum all the best! If you’re in the Tap Yard and see Jess, do say congrats!

COMING UP

Once again, there’s a lot on this month as we gear up to Christmas. On that note, don’t forget to pre-order your Advent Calendar because there’s beers you don’t want to miss and it’s over half way sold out already.

Christmas Markets

If you’re looking for some awesome Christmas Markets, look no further than those at Ascot and Windsor. I’m sure you’ll have guessed that we’ll be at both! We’ll have a selection of goodies, including our Christmas Crackers, Advent Calendars, Gift Packs, 4 Packs and a selection of Individual Cans.

We’ll also have plenty of the latest merch so you can find the beer lover in your life the perfect gift.

Wine Pairing at The G&D.

On Thursday 17th November we’re teaming up with Milton Sandford Wines and Cantine Illari for a 4 course dinner, each course expertly paired with different styles of wine from Cantine Ilauri, Abruzzo.

This stunning region produces outstanding wines, with great purity of fruit, elegance and power, each one displaying the character of its varietal and terroir in the most brilliant of ways.

You’ll be guided through 6 wines throughout the evening, in an informal and relaxed manner, whilst your hosts mingle all evening talking about the wines you’re drinking.

Beers

We have some beautiful beers in tank waiting to head your way - with an IPA taking our learnings from the Time Hops series and did someone say CCC….? There’s also a very welcome return for SPORTSBALL for the world cup, so look out for that. There’ll be some very special SHINY labels out in the wild, which will bring with them a chance to win some cool prizes.

We’re also developing a world cup themed Sportsball game, which should be super fun! Watch this space…
