April Newsletter

Our April newsletter is now available to read! Among other highlights, this edition features a glimpse into next week's beer releases Circle Back and Serendipity - both of which are brand new styles to us, and have brought us great pleasure in brewing.

Siren x Birrificio Italiano: Circle Back

This April, we will be releasing a collaboration brewed in unison with Italian legends, Birrificio Italiano. If you're a fan of Pastel Pils, you'll know that the Italian Pilsner is a fond favourite style of ours. Birrifico's Tipopils is self described as the "mother of all Italian Pilsners", and was the beer that gave us the inspiration to first brew Pastel Pils.

Our new collaboration will be an Italian Best Bitter - the first of this style for Siren. In the same way that the Italian Pilsner style was created, we'll be dry-hopping a traditional recipe with hops direct from the same farm that supplies the iconic Tipopils. Circle Back will release on the 12th April.

International Women's Day Presents: Serendipity

We'll keep this one short, as we have so much to talk about once the beer itself releases next week (eyes on our mailing list for early access!). Serendipity is the culmination of our recent IWD brew day, where women from across Siren departments, alongside some guests, got stuck in to a recipe unlike any we have used before. A ruby chocolate stout with immense smoothness and incredible aroma will be available on our webshop from next Friday.

Siren Reading Bar: Crowdfunding Now Open!

We hope that you're as excited about the upcoming launch of our new flagship Tap Room in Reading as we are. We've had an incredible initial response to our crowdfunding campaign, which offers 150% of your pledge back as new bar or online webshop credit (you pledge £100, we give you £150 back, and so on). Various reward tiers exist with a whole host of different perks available.

You can find more information on our crowdfunding, including how you can get involved, through the link below.

World Autism Acceptance Week

Between the 2nd and 8th April, we're celebrating World Autism Acceptance Week through the release of our new tropical pale ale, Colourful World. 20p per can will be donated and split between three charities supporting autistic individuals in the UK: Ambitious About Autism, Dogs For Autism and the National Autistic Society.

Over this period, we will also be donating 10p per every £1 spent through our webshop to these same charities. You can click here to purchase cans of Colourful World, and visit the link below to find out more about how we are supporting World Autism Acceptance Week.

Guess The Hop: Competition Extended!

We originally intended our Guess The Hop competition to close at the end of March, but we've seen so much popularity amongst these mystery hop beers that we've decided to keep the competition open an extra month. Have you tried the beers and placed your guess as to what hops we've used? Remember, you could be in with the chance to win a brew day experience at Siren alongside a mega beer bundle if you guess all three correctly!

11th Anniversary Brewery Party

Thank you to one and all who made it down for our brewery birthday party last month, where we celebrated our 11th year of Siren Craft Brew. We've still got plenty of stock of our anniversary beers online, and our 11th Anniversary Celebration Box is the perfect way to take part in the festivities if you weren't able to make it down on the day.

We'd like to thank all those who volunteered to help us out on the day, alongside Siren staff members who took time out of their weekends to make this party a roaring success - roll on number 12!

Staff Updates

We'd like to extend a massive congratulations to our Key Account Manager Dom, and his new wife Elina on their marriage at the end of March - we're raising a glass, and wish them all the best in their future together.

We'd also like to wish Tim, our content creator, a very happy birthday, as he turned 40 earlier this week. Our marketing team has now been blessed with 40's wisdom, and you bet we're going to use it to our full potential.

At the brewery, we're pleased to welcome on board Fred as our new junior brewer, who will be key in keeping our beers fresh and exciting as ever.

Siren x Verdant: Leapling | 6.5% Hazy IPA

We welcomed Verdant to Finchampstead for a long overdue collaboration, so making an IPA together seemed the right thing to do. We co-pitched both breweries' house yeast and dreamt up a US meets NZ hop profile in a triple dry-hop! Expect punchy aromas of lime, guava and gooseberry, with a soft body and minimal bitterness.

Short Story Long | 5% Cali Pale Ale

We're lucky to have been allocated some NZH-101 hops, from the same experimental New Zealand program that developed Nectaron. Expect lime and ripe mandarin up front, with notes of melon and tropical fruits. To showcase in the best way, we've selected a clean, crisp California style pale ale with light haze and present bitterness.

Staccato | 5.8% West Coast Pils

Continuing our love affair with the West Coast Pils, Staccato is as crisp and snappy as you like. Taking a super clean base, we then dry hop with Citra, Mosaic, El Dorado and Nelson Sauvin, in part inspired by the awesome aroma on our recent low alcohol rendition of the style.
